How do you want people to remember you?

I find myself wondering about this all the time: how do I want others to remember me? It’s easy to say that I want people to remember me as being nice and helpful. Smart and outgoing. But don’t we all? This is a real question that deserves a real answer. And to be quite honest, I don’t really have the answer just yet.

When I think about the legacy I want to leave behind, I know that I want others to feel something. To feel…happy, sad, angry, inspired, humbled. Just SOMETHING. When you feel something, you make a change. And making change is something I think our society will always thrive from.

When asked, people favor the idea of making decisions with a sound and logical mind. But when provoked, people make their best decisions with emotion. I believe that passion/emotion causes others to make change. A lack of emotion, in my opinion, distorts your perspective of the world. A perspective that is uniquely yours and no one else’s.

I always say that people may forget the things you do, but they will never forget the way you made them feel. I’m hoping that whatever I end up doing in this world…whatever mark I make on the people…I can only hope that they’ll use their feelings to make change and create a new world that will better benefit the people in it.
